Crime. Drama. Murder. We watch the deaths of others again and again either as entertainment, media news fodder or as a collective nightmare. What is it that attracts us so strongly to these ceaseless depictions of untimely demise and bloody crime?
In Goggles, Tara Cheyenne Performance’s newest comic creep-fest, a mystery unfolds. Obsession, bone chilling fear and black comedy translate into disturbingly compelling physicality and the sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes hilarious voice of Goggles.
Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg acts, dances, and inhabits this character and brings him to life and death before your unsuspecting eyes!
Director: Sophie Yendole; Composer: Marc Stewart; Lighting Designer: James Proudfoot.
Goggles will premiere at the Cultch November 17-21, 2009
I am so looking forward to seeing this little terror come to life!
I had the chance to see the excerpted version of Goggles at the Firehall last week. It was fantastic. I wonder who the composer is — I see the name Mark Stewart. Is this a local person, or is it the British DJ? I’d love it if you’d be so kind as to satisfy my curiosity. Looking forward to the full show in November.
