Holy Mo

Written by: Lucia Frangione

Directed by: Morris Ertman

Starring: Katherine Venour, Erla Faye Forsyth and Julia Mackey

Ten years ago, Holy Mo – a “wonderfully silly” show by award-winning playwright Lucia Frangione (Espresso, Cariboo Magi), with music by Marie Russell, hit the Pacific Theatre stage.  Now Holy Mo returns in Pacific Theatre’s 25th Anniversary season.  Join Follie (Katharine Venour, How it Works, St. Joan), Bufoona (Erla Faye Forsyth, Driving Miss Daisy, Farndale…Christmas Carol) and Guff (Julia Mackey, Jake’s Gift, Farndale…Christmas Carol) as they tell the story of Moses – an introverted, stuttering anti-hero who unexpectedly outwits death and leads his people out of slavery.

And just for fun, these irreverent clowns throw in the tale of David – a shepherd boy-cum-hero who kills a lion and a nine-foot giant, escapes the jealous wrath of Saul, and becomes King of the Jews…only to blow it by sleeping with a married woman he sees bathing on her roof-top.

Directed by Morris Ertman, this star-studded cast is joined by a crew of magnificent talent.  Kevin McAllister’s scenic design (Espresso, His Greatness) is mesmerizing, and Drew Facey provides a touch of ragamuffin hilarity as costume designer.  Also on board are Matt Frankish (lighting, Mourning Dove) and Luke Ertman (musical direction, The Quarrel, The Woodsman).  Stage Management by Lois Dawson.
