Secrets, sex, lies and liquor. Three brothers descend upon the family cottage to scatter the remains of their father, but discover that there are some things you can’t burn away. As one drink leads to another, the maze of secrets that tie a family together through the generations begin to unravel in this searing comic drama. Marchant states, “I wanted to look at unlocking the mysteries of memory and how it affects relationship.” Marchant is a brilliant writer and won the critics over with his previous play, Clown Elections. Peter Birnie stated, “Queer theatre gets a big boost in Bill Marchant’s Clown Elections, a nasty little gem bursting with sexual energy.”  Ashes will not disappoint.
